our family had two doctors' appointments today - Kitten's 9 month check-up and J's follow-up with the orthopedic specialist after having an MRI on his knee last thursday.
as expected, J is going to need surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. surgery is schedule for two weeks from tomorrow, on friday, june 12. they expect that he will be up and about the next day, which J was happy to hear.
Kitten's doctor pronounced her "perfect in every way," as mary poppins would say. she has met or exceeded all of her developmental milestones. she has no stranger anxiety (yet - although she's begun expressing a clear preference for me, much to J's annoyance) so she sat happily in the ped's lap and watched him talk. the fluid in her ears has cleared up for now, and there were no shots to be had today. her stats are as follows:
weight: 17lbs, 8oz (25%)
length: 28.25 inches (65%)
head: 40%
she's still long and skinny - and moving around at lightening speed. in fact, she's so BUSY during the day that she no longer has the patience to take a bottle while at daycare, although she's happy to eat all the fruits, vegetables, and oatmeal that they will feed her. as a result, she's not getting quiiiite enough formula every day (15-20 oz instead of 24-32 oz), so we're going to work a little harder on that.
tomorrow is the last day of school. J and i worked our tails off to get Princess's "new" room finished and it looks great. i would promise pictures but i'm uber busy and can't guarantee it. at any rate i'm sure she'll love it.
that's all i got.

Busy busy! We're having a gathering on the 13th at our house if you'd like to come. We can prop Jake's leg up, and the kids are welcome (of course!). We're looking to potentially get a bounce house too. :)
hope everything goes smoothly with jake--and hope you find time to share pictures!
Can't wait to see Autumn's new room. She is such a great kid!
I can just picture Aislinn sitting there evaluating the doc :)
