sure as kilimanjaro rises like olympus above the serengeti

-toto, "africa"

i have become a Mommy.  not a mother--that's what i became when i gave birth.  but today, 09 june in the year of our lord 2009 at approximately 1:45 p.m., i became a Mommy.  the following is the facebook account of the sordid manner in which it occurred:

Melissa just bought the girls red, white, and blue outfits for independence day.  i'm officially a monster.  1:53 p.m.

Linda G. at 2:04 pm June 9: Hahahahahahaha! It happens to the best of us.  Embrace it.

Melissa at 2:53pm June 9: at least they are what i consider to be "benignly" patriotic. red, white, and blue prints but no "USA ROCKS!" or "land of the free, home of the SOONERS." is that at all redeeming or shall i just resign myself to mom jeans right now?

le sigh.

LOL! And, you are a wonderful Mommy! Your mother should be proud!

Her mother is proud!

Besides, it's just new clothes to them - no political or social bindings. Autumn is going to LOVE hers cause it's going to "Swirl" when she spins and Aislinn already loves peace signs. PERFECT CHILDREN!

Also, you have an inherited genetic tendency toward patriotism =

signed, ok...i do have 3 flags up around the property at this very moment.. mom
