for Princess's sixth birthday we had a Hannah Montana party at mom and stepdad's house.
we grilled burgers and had white cake with chocolate icing per Princess's specifications. she had a living room campout/sleepover (not outside thanks to the gustav rain) with some friends/cousins.
the kids thoroughly thrashed the living room.
stepdad made superhero capes, which were a huge hit.
the dog got one, too. i don't think she noticed.

That was a blast. We have totally recovered. PS I think Molly liked the cape - she's smiling :)
