nursery: under construction

from the doorway (it's a little cluttered - we're working on it - the bassinett will go in our bedroom). i'm thinking we need a big sage green shag rug:

that short black cabinet in the corner? there are three of them in the room (which used to be the guest bedroom/office). there is nowhere else in the house to put them, so they will have to stay in the nursery. however, they can't be gotten rid of, because they're full of this:

my precioussssssssss...

(and alphabetical, i might add)

here's the armoire we bought saturday for storage (the closet in this room is J's closet and doesn't have room for Kitten's stuff, but that's fine because there's no way we can share the master bedroom closet). eventually when we move into our next house, we will buy the rest of a black bedroom set and put this in the guest bedroom with a television; by that time, Kitten will be big enough for a twin-size bedroom suite:

crib and chair (that's my filing cabinet to the right of the chair - i'm going to put a changing pad on top of it - necessity [and lack of space] is the mother of invention):

bedding close-up:

carseat (we have the matching stroller - it's a behemoth - i hope we use it, because otherwise that's a colossal waste of plastic). it's a little boy-ish, a little gender neutral, but i just could not abide by the pink and plaid alternatives:

gatsby is extremely excited and immediately hopped into the stroller to go for a ride:

OOOOHHHHHH she is almost here!!! Very practical nursery. You did WONDERFUL! You will find that you don't use all of the super duper gadgets out there. They just cost a lot of cash!

I am so excited for you!!!
