let the countdown begin

i am scheduled to be induced next thursday, august 28.  no, i didn't really *want* an induction, but you know what? i am tired of being pregnant!  and honestly having a date certain is tremendously beneficial mentally and emotionally.  i can't imagine just not knowing.  i, for example, was TWENTY DAYS OVERDUE when i was born june 24, 1980 in a record-breaking heat wave, as my mother has been quick to point out on multiple occasions in the last nine months (hi, mom! love you! thank you!).  if i went twenty days past my due date with no end in sight--suffice it to say i can't even imagine that.

so cross your fingers and hope that i don't end up in the cesarean room.  but i trust my doctor a LOT and i think that if i'm bound for an unscheduled cesarean it's going to happen induction or not.  and there's always the chance that i'll go into labor spontaneously before then, so if you picked pre-august 28 in the baby poll, you've still got a fighting chance.  anything post-august 29 and i think you're out of luck.
