this morning jake went to the gun show while i slept in. he took my jeep.
i harbour no illusions that the target demographic of the wanenmacher gun and knife show are happy shiny democrats like myself, but while he was in the expo center, someone slapped this over my obama/biden sticker:

(jake peeled it off my car and i stuck it on a piece of paper.)
okay, really? am i going to have to move? when something happened to my first sticker, it turned out to be a harmless prank, but i still had to go through all the emotions before erin 'fessed up. this time, i'm really, extremely irritated.
so all day long i've been thinking about who this person must have been, what they were thinking, and how angry i am. i feel like i've been violated. as much as i detest those smug, slickly designed "W: The President" stickers, i've never defaced one, because we all have a right to voice our opinions.
so tonight i decided that the right thing to do in the face of this situation would be to dig into my pocketbook and make a small donation to the brady campaign to prevent gun violence.
so i did. and i feel good about it. take that.

Way to fight back in a non-violent way! Maybe I will pray that I stop wishing for those people to get shot themselves, because Obama has done nothing to infringe on their right to bear arms.
red states. gotta love 'em.
on an completely unrelated note, i got into a fight with someone during the LSU/Alabama game b/c i pointed out that burning a scarecrow with the face of nick saban is a borderline hate crime, and if they hate him so badly, they should smash the 2003 national championship trophy to bits b/c they have it due to nick saban. needless to say, my membership in the walk-on's football viewing club has been revoked. i'm SO proud to live in the south. /sarcasm.
