the one in jenks. we agreed on a price. we went up a little, they came down a little, and the realtors agreed to kick in part of their commissions to get us where we needed to be in the middle.
it's nice and clean, but there are some 1970spectacular aspects of the house that will need a little tlc. like the amber-colored glass in the kitchen cabinets, or the olive green bathtub upstairs. but it's in a very well-maintained, friendly-looking neighborhood by the golf course.
it's kind of a transitional house. as in, we're not really in a position to buy what we want, what with my new business and the new baby, but we really need something bigger NOW, so this house will be what we need in the interim.
and it's got a hot tub. not that that was a huge selling point for us. i can't even remember the last time i was in a hot tub. remember when the pikes used to put that disgusting hot tub on their deck during their games week? i can't even remember what their week was called. large portions of college are a black hole in my memory. i swear i can't remember more than two years ago at any given time. i remember random stuff, like Marty Party, which i didn't even go to, but i think it stuck in my head because it was so catchy. i never really hung out at the pike house, but every time i went there i ended up having a really great time.
ANYWAY, we move in the weekend before thanksgiving. that's in three weeks!
i need boxes. ooooooooh i hate moving. i can't count how many times i have moved since i graduated from high school. dozens, at least. hopefully this will be the last move for at least four or five years.
here it is. i won't post pictures of the inside because they don't really do it justice, and also our furniture is way better than the other people's furniture - which is saying a lot about how bad their furniture is!

I think the amber glass with other updates might look cool. It does in my head anyway. LOL! Let me know if you need something. Glad you found a house!:)
I hung out at the pike house a lot, and I don't remember a hot tub. Not sure if this is a good sign or a bad one...yay for houses! I'm sure it will look amazing once handy jake is through with it...
maybe it was the kappa sigs. yes, okay, i've checked with kkastel, and it was the kappa sigs.
more proof of how bad my memory is.
Congrats - that's so exciting! Glad everything turned out for you guys, I can't even imagine how crazy stressful buying a house must be.
Enjoy your hot tub too.
why do I have to be the one who knows exactly where the hot tub was! i am going to credit JT for that.
